Setup, Compatibility & Care
To maximize the lifespan and performance of your PUMA King Match FG/AG Football Boots, follow these guidelines:
Setup
- First Fit: Slip on the boots. The low-cut design with padded collar should provide immediate comfort.
- Lacing: Utilize the streamlined lacing system to achieve a secure, personalized fit. Start lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling evenly to distribute pressure across your foot. Ensure your heel is firmly seated against the improved heel padding.
- Break-in: While the synthetic upper is soft, a short break-in period during light training sessions or casual wear is recommended to fully mold the boots to your feet.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are not excessively wet or muddy.
- Artificial Ground (AG): Synthetic turf surfaces. The conical stud pattern is optimized for traction and reduced stud pressure on these surfaces.
Do not use these boots on soft ground (SG) where longer, metal studs are typically required, or on indoor court (IC) surfaces as this can damage the studs and compromise grip.
Care
Proper care will keep your boots in top condition:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, wipe off any mud, dirt, or debris with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush can be used carefully.
- Remove Insole: If removable, take out the insoles to air dry separately, which helps prevent odor.
- Air Dry: Always air dry your boots at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as excessive heat can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Stuffing: You can stuff your boots with newspaper or a shoe tree to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A boot bag can protect them from dust and scratches.
- Avoid Washing Machine: Never put your football boots in a washing machine, as this can severely damage the materials and structure.
