Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your adidas RS-15 boots come with a soft ground soleplate featuring six removable metal studs and five moulded support studs. Before your first use and periodically thereafter, ensure all studs are securely tightened. A stud wrench (often sold separately or included with purchase) is recommended for this task. Ensure you use the correct stud length for the specific ground conditions you are playing on, as per rugby regulations.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for soft ground (SG) pitches. This includes natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or have significant give. They are not recommended for use on firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or hard ground (HG) surfaces, as this can damage the studs, compromise traction, and potentially lead to injury.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, clean your boots thoroughly. Remove excess mud and debris with a soft brush or cloth. Wipe the upper with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check the tightness of the metal studs. Replace any worn or damaged studs promptly to maintain optimal grip and safety.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from dust and damage.
