Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The adidas RS-15 Rugby Boots require minimal setup. Simply ensure they are sized correctly for a snug but comfortable fit. It's recommended to try them on with your preferred rugby socks to ensure optimal comfort and feel. Before your first use, check that all removable metal studs are securely tightened. Over time, studs can loosen, so regular checks are advised.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for soft ground (SG) pitches. The mixed stud configuration provides maximum traction on wet, muddy, or natural grass surfaces. They are not recommended for use on firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or indoor courts, as this can damage the boots, the playing surface, and increase the risk of injury. The regular fit is suitable for a wide range of adult male feet.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your RS-15 boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, wipe down the boots with a damp cloth to remove excess dirt and mud. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check and clean around the studs to prevent mud buildup, which can affect grip. Ensure all metal studs are tightened before and after each game or training session. Replace worn or damaged studs as needed.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can cause the synthetic materials to crack or stiffen. Stuffing the boots with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Using a boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Recycled Content: While these boots incorporate recycled content, care practices remain standard for synthetic athletic footwear.
