Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Alphacross 5 GTX is ready to wear straight out of the box. Ensure a snug but comfortable fit by lacing them securely. Pay attention to how the shoe feels during your first few short runs to break them in and ensure optimal comfort. A properly tied lace system should hold your foot without creating pressure points.
Compatibility
These shoes are primarily designed for trail running, hiking, and general outdoor activities in varied conditions, especially wet and muddy terrain. They are compatible with most trail running socks and gaiters for additional protection against debris. While they can handle some road segments, their aggressive lug pattern makes them best suited for off-road environments.
Care
- Cleaning: After use, especially in muddy conditions, remove excess dirt by knocking the soles together. For stubborn mud, gently brush with a soft brush and lukewarm water. Avoid harsh detergents or machine washing, as this can damage the Gore-Tex membrane and bonding agents.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can cause materials to shrink or crack. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve material integrity.
