Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Ensure proper lacing for a secure, comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing patterns if you experience pressure points. A snug fit is crucial for trail running to prevent foot movement within the shoe.
- Break-In Period: While comfortable out of the box, a short break-in period (a few shorter runs) is recommended to allow the shoes to fully conform to your feet.
Compatibility
These shoes are designed for trail running across a variety of soft, muddy, and loose terrains. They are also suitable for hiking and walking in wet or unpredictable conditions. They pair well with performance running socks designed to wick moisture and prevent blisters.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: After muddy runs, rinse the shoes under cold running water to remove mud and debris. A soft brush can be used for stubborn dirt. Avoid using harsh detergents or hot water, which can damage the materials, especially the GORE-TEX membrane.
- Drying: Allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do NOT tumble dry or place them near direct heat sources (like radiators or in direct sunlight) as this can damage the adhesives and materials. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent odors and material degradation.
- Inspection: Regularly check the outsole for embedded stones or debris that could affect grip or wear. Inspect the upper for any signs of damage or wear that might compromise waterproof integrity.
