Product Information

Full details

The Salomon XT EVR is designed for active adults who need a versatile, everyday trainer that bridges the gap between rugged trail-inspired aesthetics and modern urban comfort. By blending the durability and stability features characteristic of high-performance trail footwear with a lightweight, ergonomic construction, these trainers provide excellent support for daily wear and light exploration. However, while they excel in comfort and style, users should note that they are optimized for versatility rather than intensive technical mountain running.

FAQs

Are these shoes waterproof?

The XT EVR is designed for breathability and everyday versatility. They are not marketed as waterproof, so expect them to get wet in heavy rain.

Can I use these for marathon running?

While stable and comfortable, these are designed as everyday lifestyle trainers. They are not intended for high-performance long-distance racing.

How do I determine my size?

Salomon sizing is generally true to size. We recommend measuring your foot at the end of the day when it is at its largest and referring to a UK size conversion chart.

Are they suitable for wide feet?

The XT EVR features a standard fit. Individuals with wider feet may find the standard width comfortable, though personal preference varies.

What is the best way to dry them if they get wet?

Remove the insoles and air dry them in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the materials.

Troubleshooting

Feeling discomfort after long wear

Ensure your laces are properly adjusted to secure the midfoot without restricting blood flow; consider adjusting the lacing pattern for a more custom fit.

Outer material shows light debris

Once dry, use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove surface dust and dried mud from the mesh and synthetic overlays.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lightweight feel prevents heaviness during long days
Versatile design suitable for both urban and light trail environments
Stable platform enhances confidence while walking
Stylish aesthetic inspired by premium trail heritage

Cons

Not intended for extreme technical mountain terrain
Specific sizing requires precise measurement for optimal fit
Less aggressive lug pattern compared to pure racing trail shoes

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Salomon XT EVR trainers maintain their performance, follow these guidelines:

Fit: Ensure you have selected the correct UK size, as a snug midfoot is critical for stability.
Break-in: While comfortable out of the box, the foam may adapt slightly to your foot shape after a few days of consistent wear.
Cleaning: Hand wash using a soft brush and lukewarm water. Avoid machine washing or drying, as high heat can degrade the adhesives and structural foam.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent premature material fading and degradation.
