The Olympus 7 focuses on breathability and durability; they are not inherently waterproof, so consider a treatment if you expect heavy rain.
While they are comfortable, the outsole is optimized for trail surfaces and will wear down prematurely on asphalt or concrete.
Use warm water and a mild detergent with a soft brush. Never put them in a washing machine or dryer.
It allows the toes to splay naturally, which provides a more stable base and helps prevent common issues like blisters or cramped toes.
Yes, the advanced cushioning is specifically designed to reduce fatigue, making them an excellent choice for long-distance trekking.
Adjust your lacing pattern using the top eyelets to secure the heel lock for a tighter fit.
Consider using compatible hiking gaiters to seal the gap between your ankle and the shoe collar.
Clean the lugs thoroughly with water and a stiff-bristled brush to remove compacted mud that prevents the rubber from making contact with the trail.
To ensure your Altra Olympus 7 shoes remain in top condition, start by ensuring you have the correct size; the brand's unique shape often fits differently than standard hiking shoes, so a proper break-in period on shorter trails is recommended before attempting long treks. Compatibility with gaiters is generally high, though no specific attachments are noted. For care, remove excess mud or dirt after each hike using a soft brush. If the shoes become wet, allow them to air dry naturally in a cool, ventilated area away from direct heat sources, which can damage the cushioning materials and adhesives.
