The Altra Olympus 7 is engineered for adult trail runners who prioritize long-distance comfort and structural support on challenging terrain. By utilizing Altra's signature ergonomic design, these trainers promote a natural gait, while the high-density cushioning system mitigates impact fatigue. Potential users should note that the specialized wide-toe box design requires an adjustment period for those transitioning from traditional, narrower athletic footwear.

While designed primarily for trails, the cushioning is versatile, though the aggressive lugs will wear down faster if used exclusively on asphalt.
Altra shoes typically fit true to size, but the wide-toe box means your toes will have more room than in traditional footwear.
Yes, the Olympus 7 features a removable insole that can be swapped for custom orthotics if required.
It is generally recommended to replace trail running shoes every 300 to 500 miles, depending on the intensity and harshness of the terrain.
The standard Olympus 7 is designed for breathability. While they can handle splashing, they are not inherently waterproof.
Adjust the lace tension specifically around the mid-foot lockdown zone to secure the arch.
Allow for a gradual transition period; the zero-drop or ergonomic shape can engage different muscles than standard trainers.
Ensure the lace-up closure is snug and consider using trail gaiters if running on particularly sandy or loose-gravel trails.
To ensure peak performance, verify your sizing to account for the unique toe-splay design. While these are 'ready-to-run' out of the box, we recommend wearing them for shorter walks to allow the foam to adapt to your foot strike. Cleaning should be performed by hand using a soft brush and mild soap to remove dried mud and grit. Avoid machine washing or using high-heat dryers, as these can compromise the integrity of the adhesive and foam density. Ensure the shoes are air-dried away from direct sunlight to preserve the upper material flexibility.
