Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation is Key for Optimal Results
- Previously Painted Walls: Sand off any loose or flaking paint. Wipe down with a damp cloth. For very bold or contrasting existing colors, apply a basecoat or be prepared for an extra coat of Ronseal paint.
- Bare Plaster: Allow new plaster to dry for 7 days before painting. Then, seal the plaster with a basecoat or a dedicated plaster sealer.
- Bare and Previously Painted Wood: Lightly sand the surface using 120 grit sandpaper. Remove dust with a damp cloth. Fill any holes or cracks and treat any knots before painting.
- Bare and Painted Metal: Sand off any loose or flaking paint and wipe away dust with a damp cloth. If painting ferrous metals (like steel or cast iron), a specialist metal primer must be used first.
Application Tips
Before starting, stir the paint thoroughly. If using multiple tins of the same color, mix them together to ensure consistent color across your project. Load your brush or roller generously. Always work from dry areas into wet areas to avoid lap marks. Do not thin this paint.
Care
The paint is stain resistant and washable, making it easy to maintain. Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed.
