The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket is designed for outdoor enthusiasts and urban dwellers alike who need reliable warmth in cold, winter conditions. Featuring premium 700-fill goose down and a durable, water-repellent finish, it provides excellent insulation in a classic, boxy silhouette; however, users should note that the relaxed fit may feel bulkier than modern slim-cut technical jackets.

No, it features a water-repellent finish (DWR) that protects against light moisture, but it is not a seam-sealed waterproof shell.
Turn the right-hand pocket inside out and fold the jacket into it, then zip the pocket closed using the reversible zipper slider.
Yes, the jacket uses RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified goose down, ensuring traceability and ethical production.
The jacket has a relaxed, boxy fit. Most users find it true to size for a loose, comfortable look, but you may want to size down for a more fitted silhouette.
While it is inspired by 90s ski gear, it is primarily a lifestyle piece. It works well for casual skiing in dry conditions, but it lacks specific features like a powder skirt or helmet-compatible hood.
This is common with down jackets. Gently pull the feather back into the jacket from the opposite side and rub the fabric to reseal the weave.
Tumble dry the jacket on low heat with clean tennis balls to redistribute the down and restore its volume.
Check for debris in the teeth of the VISLON zipper and ensure no fabric is caught behind the slider.
To maintain the loft and performance of the down, store the jacket hanging in a cool, dry place rather than compressed for long periods. If the jacket loses its water-repellent performance, you can refresh the DWR coating using a specialized technical fabric wash and spray. When cleaning, machine wash on a gentle cycle with a front-loading machine and use a tennis ball in the dryer on a low-heat setting to help re-fluff the down. Ensure all Velcro straps are fastened before washing to prevent snagging on the nylon fabric.
