It is water-repellent, meaning it is designed to handle light precipitation, but it is not classified as fully waterproof.
Yes, it is machine washable at 40 degrees, but ensure you follow the care label and use a down-safe detergent.
The jacket features secure external hand zip pockets for storing your belongings.
The hood is tucked inside the stand-up collar and can be accessed via a zipper opening at the neck.
The 1996 Retro Nuptse has an intentional 'boxy' fit. If you prefer a more tailored look, you may want to consider sizing down.
It uses 700-fill goose down, which offers a high level of warmth while remaining lightweight.
Tumble dry the jacket on low heat with clean tennis balls or dryer balls to fluff the down back to its original loft.
The DWR coating may have worn off; use a fabric re-waterproofing spray to restore the water-repellent finish.
The Nuptse 1996 requires minimal setup beyond adjusting the hem drawcord and sleeve cuffs to suit your preference. To maintain the jacket's performance, it is machine washable at 40 degrees. Always follow the specific care label instructions; using a gentle cycle and specialized down detergent helps preserve the loft of the goose down insulation. When drying, using tumble dryer balls can help redistribute the down and prevent clumping, ensuring the jacket retains its signature warmth and shape over seasons of use.
