FAQs

Is this rug safe for use with underfloor heating?

Yes, the jute backing and synthetic fibers are generally compatible with underfloor heating systems.

Does this rug shed over time?

The Santiago rug is specifically designed to be non-shedding, making it a clean option for your home.

Can this be cleaned with a carpet shampooer?

Spot cleaning is recommended. If professional cleaning is needed, always defer to a specialist to ensure the fibers and jute backing are not damaged.

Is the beige color prone to showing dirt?

While lighter colors show debris more clearly, the rug's stain-resistant properties make it easy to spot clean when necessary.

What is the total thickness of the rug?

The rug features a 13mm cut pile, which provides the primary depth and texture for the piece.

Troubleshooting

Rug does not lay flat after unrolling

Reverse roll the rug for a few hours or place heavy, flat objects on the corners until it settles.

Surface feels flat or matted

Use a vacuum cleaner with a beater bar or high suction to lift the fibers of the 13mm pile.

Rug slipping on hard surfaces

Purchase a separate rug pad or adhesive tape to secure the jute backing to your floor.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up your rug, unroll it in your desired location and allow it to lay flat for 24-48 hours to remove any creases from shipping. For added stability on hardwood floors, consider placing a non-slip rug pad underneath to prevent shifting. Compatibility-wise, this piece excels in modern apartments and homes with neutral palettes. To care for your rug, vacuum regularly to prevent dirt from settling deep into the 13mm pile. For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth; do not rub, as this can force the stain deeper into the fibers. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as these may damage the weave.
