Washed Sharp Sand - Charles Watson - KEAGWSB

Sharp sand is coarser, making it ideal for bedding mortar and laying courses, while building sand is finer and suitable for general construction.

Calculate the area to be paved and the required depth of the bedding mortar to determine the volume of sand needed. It is recommended to add 10% extra to allow for settling and waste.

While it can be used in some construction applications, it is primarily designed for bedding mortar and paving laying courses.

Store the sand in a dry place, away from moisture, to prevent it from clumping. Cover the sand with a tarpaulin if stored outdoors.

Kerbside delivery means the delivery driver will unload the sand at the kerb or roadside and will not be able to move the items over fences or other barriers. This service is provided for pallet quantity deliveries.

You will need tools for mixing (e.g., shovel, wheelbarrow, cement mixer), levelling (e.g., spirit level, screed), and laying the paving stones (e.g., rubber mallet, measuring tape).

Ensure correct cement-to-sand ratio and sufficient water. Check the expiry date of the cement.

Ensure the bedding mortar is level before laying the blocks. Use a spirit level during the process.
