FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for running?
While based on a 2008 stability running shoe, the modern GEL-1130 is primarily designed for lifestyle and urban use.
What is the TRUSSTIC system?
It is a support bridge beneath the arch that reduces the weight of the sole unit while maintaining the structural integrity of the shoe.
How do I care for the mesh portions?
Use a soft brush to remove loose dirt from the mesh, followed by a mild soap solution if necessary.
Is the material recycled?
Yes, the upper incorporates recycled materials, and the insole utilizes a sustainable solution-dyeing process.
Does this model provide arch support?
Yes, the TRUSSTIC system provides natural midfoot support suitable for most neutral to stable strides.
Troubleshooting
Visible dirt or scuffs on leather
Use a specialized leather cleaning foam or a gentle, damp microfiber cloth to buff out surface-level marks.
Excessive moisture inside the shoe
Remove the insole to air dry separately and stuff the shoe with newspaper to absorb residual humidity.

- Limited to urban lifestyle use rather than technical off-road trails
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your ASICS Gel-1130 trainers remain in top condition, follow these guidelines:
- Sizing: These shoes are true to size for most adults. Ensure a thumb's width of space at the front of the shoe to prevent toe crowding.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the leather and mesh surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid submerging the shoes in water, as this can degrade the internal adhesives.
- Drying: Air dry in a cool, shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight or high-heat sources like radiators, which can cause the leather to crack and the foam midsole to warp.
- Sustainability Care: Because the insoles use solution-dyeing, avoid harsh chemical cleaners which may strip the finish and sustainability benefits.
