Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure walls and ceilings are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or loose material. Fill any cracks or holes and sand smooth. For new, bare, or highly porous surfaces, a suitable primer or mist coat of diluted emulsion (1 part paint to 10 parts water) may be required.
- Protect the Area: Lay down dust sheets to protect floors and furniture. Use painter's tape to mask off skirting boards, door frames, and ceiling lines.
- Stir the Paint: Thoroughly stir the paint before and during use to ensure consistent color and finish.
- Tools: Apply using a good quality paint brush for edges and corners, and a roller for larger areas. Ensure tools are clean and suitable for water-based paints.
Compatibility
This paint is suitable for interior use on a wide range of common building surfaces, including:
- Plaster (new and old)
- Plasterboard
- Brick
- Wallpaper (sound and well-adhered)
- Existing painted surfaces (ensure they are clean, dull, and sound)
Care
- Cleaning Tools: Wash brushes and rollers thoroughly with warm, soapy water immediately after use.
- Cleaning Painted Surfaces: For minor marks, gently wipe the painted surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing or abrasive cleaners, as matte finishes can burnish or become shiny if rubbed too vigorously.
- Storing Leftover Paint: Store any unused paint in its original container, tightly sealed, in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. Ensure the lid is securely closed to prevent the paint from drying out.
