Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation
For best results, proper surface preparation is crucial:
- Clean: Ensure walls and ceilings are clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, or loose flaking paint. Use a mild detergent solution if necessary, then rinse with clean water and allow to dry completely.
- Fill: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth. Remove all sanding dust.
- Prime: For new plaster, porous surfaces, or if painting over a strong/dark colour, apply a suitable primer or a diluted first coat of this paint (up to 10% water) to create a consistent base. This ensures even absorption and optimal paint adhesion.
Application
- Stir: Stir the paint thoroughly before and during use to ensure colour consistency.
- Tools: Apply using a good quality brush for cutting in edges and corners, and a roller for larger areas. Use a medium pile roller for a smooth finish.
- Coats: Apply 1-2 coats. Allow ample drying time between coats. > Info needed: specific drying time between coats. For best results, typically 2-4 hours.
Compatibility
- This paint is suitable for use over most common interior wall and ceiling surfaces, including plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted surfaces.
- For optimal colour and finish, ensure any primer used is compatible with water-based emulsion paints.
Care & Storage
- Cleaning Tools: Clean brushes and rollers immediately after use with warm soapy water.
- Spills: Wipe up any spills or splatters immediately with a damp cloth.
- Storage: Store the paint in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and frost. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed to prevent the paint from drying out. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local regulations.
