The Puma Deviate Nitro 4 is a high-performance trainer designed for adult male runners seeking a balance of speed and comfort for daily road running. It features updated NITROFOAM technology and a carbon composite PWRPLATE to provide superior energy return and stability on long-distance runs. While the shoe offers excellent traction and a lightweight feel, its maximalist cushioning style may feel too high for runners who prefer a minimal, ground-contact experience.

Yes, the shoe is designed for distance running and offers the cushioning and energy return required for marathon-length efforts.
The shoe features an 8mm heel-to-toe drop, providing a balanced platform for most runners.
While the PUMAGRIP offers great traction, these are designed primarily for road use. They may lack the lateral stability required for technical or uneven trails.
The shoes generally follow standard sizing; however, since they feature a regular width, individuals with wider feet may prefer to try them on with their preferred running socks first.
Depending on your running surface and weight, it is generally recommended to replace performance running shoes every 400 to 500 miles to ensure the cushioning properties remain effective.
Adjust the laces using a runner's loop or heel lock method to secure the ankle collar more firmly.
Store the shoes in a room-temperature environment; NITROFOAM is sensitive to extreme cold and will regain its responsiveness once it returns to ambient temperature.
To ensure the best performance from your Puma Deviate Nitro 4s, begin with a standard lace-up fastening that locks the midfoot without restricting circulation. The shoes are built for neutral runners and are compatible with custom orthotics if you have specific arch requirements. For care, avoid machine washing or drying, as high temperatures can degrade the foam's integrity. Instead, clean the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap. If the shoes get soaked during a run, remove the insoles and allow them to air dry at room temperature away from direct sunlight or heat sources to maintain the elasticity of the NITROFOAM.
