The Puma Deviate Nitro 4 is a high-performance trainer designed for adult male runners seeking a versatile shoe for daily road training and race-day efforts. It excels by offering a lightweight, responsive ride through advanced foam technology and a carbon-composite plate, though runners who prefer a maximalist or highly cushioned feel may find its streamlined construction less plush than some competitors.

The Deviate Nitro 4 is designed primarily for road surfaces. While the PUMAGRIP is durable, it does not provide the lug depth or protection required for technical trail running.
Yes, it features a carbon-composite PWRPLATE designed to assist with propulsion and energy transfer.
The shoe features an 8mm heel-to-toe drop.
Yes, the provided insoles are removable, allowing you to insert your own custom orthotics if needed.
Like most high-performance trainers, it is recommended to replace them every 300-500 miles, depending on your running style and surface conditions.
The mesh upper is designed for breathability, meaning it will likely let in water if you run in heavy rain or puddles.
Try a different lacing technique, such as the 'window lacing' method, to relieve tension across the bridge of your foot.
Use a dull plastic tool or a stiff-bristled brush to clear pebbles from the traction grooves after runs on gravel or uneven paths.
To ensure the best performance from your Puma Deviate Nitro 4, start by securing the lace-up fastening to match your foot shape—ensure the midfoot is snug but not constricting to avoid pressure points during long runs. These trainers are built for neutral runners; if you require significant arch support or motion control, ensure you test them with your specific insoles first.
