Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation
For best results, proper surface preparation is crucial:
- Clean: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, or loose material. Use a suitable degreaser if necessary.
- Smooth: Sand down any rough areas, flaking paint, or imperfections until smooth. For previously painted surfaces, a light sand to create a key is recommended.
- Dust-Free: Wipe away all sanding dust before painting.
- Bare Surfaces: While self-undercoating, for very porous bare wood or metal, a very thin first coat or a dedicated primer can sometimes improve adhesion and finish, though typically not required.
Application
- Stir: Stir the paint thoroughly before and during use to ensure even consistency.
- Tools: Apply with a good quality synthetic brush or a short-pile roller for smooth results.
- Coats: Apply 1-2 coats depending on the previous color and desired finish. Allow adequate drying time between coats (typically a few hours, check product label for specific times).
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.
Compatibility
- Interior Wood: Ideal for internal doors, skirting boards, architraves, window frames, and wooden furniture.
- Interior Metal: Suitable for radiators (ensure they are cool), metal banisters, and other interior metal features.
- Not for Exterior Use: This paint is not designed for outdoor surfaces.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning Tools: Clean brushes and rollers immediately after use with warm soapy water.
- Wipeable Surface: Once fully cured, the painted surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent if needed.
- Storage: Store leftover paint in a cool, dry place, ensuring the lid is tightly sealed to prevent drying out. Keep away from direct sunlight and frost.
- Disposal: Dispose of unused paint and waste according to local regulations.
