Full details
The Saucony Guide 19 is an excellent choice for adult male runners seeking a reliable, supportive trainer for everyday use. Its primary strength lies in the advanced PWRRUN foam cushioning, which offers superior protection during long runs or daily training sessions. While these shoes excel at providing a steady and comfortable ride, users should note that the stability-focused design may feel slightly more structured than lightweight racing flats.

FAQs
Is the Saucony Guide 19 suitable for overpronation?
Yes, the Guide series is specifically designed with stability features to support runners who experience mild to moderate overpronation.
How often should I replace these shoes?
It is generally recommended to replace running shoes every 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running style and surface conditions.
Can I use these for gym workouts?
While primarily a road running shoe, the stable base makes them suitable for light gym use, though they are not designed for heavy lifting stability.
Are these waterproof?
No, these trainers are made from breathable mesh materials which are not waterproof.
How do I find the right size?
Saucony sizing is generally true-to-fit; we recommend ensuring there is about a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the front of the shoe.
Troubleshooting
Feeling discomfort after long runs
Ensure the laces are not tied too tightly around the midfoot and check that your socks provide adequate moisture-wicking.
Midsole foam appears compressed
Ensure you are rotating your shoes to allow the foam structure to recover between runs.
Slippage in the heel area
Try using the 'runner's loop' or 'heel lock' lacing technique to secure the ankle more firmly.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Superior impact protection via PWRRUN foam
- Balanced design suitable for everyday training
- Improved flexibility in the forefoot
- Durable build quality for long-term use
Cons
- Slightly heavier than minimalist racing shoes
- More structured feel may not suit those preferring zero-drop
- Primary focus is stability rather than pure speed
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Saucony Guide 19 trainers, proper maintenance is essential.
- Break-in Period: While comfortable out of the box, perform a few shorter runs to allow the foam and upper to adapt to your specific foot shape.
- Cleaning: Remove loose dirt with a soft brush after runs. Use a damp cloth with mild soap for deeper cleaning; avoid putting them in the washing machine or dryer to prevent material breakdown.
- Storage: Always store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can degrade the midsole cushioning over time.
- Rotation: If running daily, consider rotating with another pair of trainers to allow the cushioning foam 24-48 hours to fully decompress.
