Full details

The Korda Kable Leadcore Leader Heli Safe is designed for carp anglers who demand a reliable, fish-friendly helicopter presentation. FAQs

Can this be used with chod rigs?

Yes, the Heli-Safe system is fully compatible with both conventional helicopter rigs and chod rigs.

How long is the leader?

Each leader is 50cm in length, providing an ideal balance for pinning the line down without being cumbersome.

What is included in the pack?

Each pack contains two ready-tied leaders, spare No-Trace Beads, extra Mini Heli-Safe collars, and red springs.

Is the leadcore material safe for fish?

Yes, the system is designed to release the lead and hook link in the event of a line break, prioritizing fish safety.

Does this work in all weed conditions?

The system is adaptable, but you must switch the spring and collar configuration based on the density of the weed to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshooting

The lead is ejecting too easily during the cast.

Check the collar and spring setup; ensure you are using the correct tension setting for the weight of your lead.

The No-Trace Bead is not releasing the hook link.

Ensure the hook link is properly attached to the bead and there is no debris preventing the bead from sliding freely.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Ready-to-use pre-tied configuration saves valuable time
Excellent abrasion resistance and sinking properties
Fish-safe design with lead and hook-link release mechanisms
Versatile for both conventional helicopter rigs and chod rigs

Cons

Requires proper spring selection to avoid premature lead ejection
Not suitable for venues where lead ejection is prohibited
Limited to 50cm length, which may not suit all fishing styles

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up, attach your main line to the loop at the top of the leader. Choose the appropriate collar and spring for your target water based on the amount of weed or debris present. After each trip, inspect the leader for fraying, especially if you have been fishing over gravel or rocky bottoms. Rinse the components with fresh water to remove silt or lake debris, and store the leaders flat to prevent kinking in the leadcore material.
