These leaders are specifically designed to be 50cm in length, which is an ideal length for pinning down the critical area near the rig.
While generally accepted, some commercial fisheries have specific rules regarding leadcore. Always check your venue's rules before use.
While designed for ring swivels, they can be adapted for various setups, though a dedicated chod leader might be more suitable for that specific presentation.
Each pack contains three ready-tied leaders.
The green finish is ideal for silty, weedy, or darker bottoms, helping the rig blend into the natural environment.
Gently pull the leader through your fingers to straighten the lead wire before casting.
Ensure the main line loop is small and neatly seated within the leader loop for a smooth transition.
Use a dedicated baiting needle to guide the main line through the spliced loop if necessary.
To attach the leader to your main line, use a simple loop-to-loop connection. Ensure you test the knot integrity before casting. When integrating with your terminal tackle, slide your lead system onto the ring swivel ensuring the swivel eye moves freely. After each session, inspect the leadcore for any signs of fraying, particularly near the swivel connection. To maintain the life of the leader, avoid bending it sharply at any point, as this can create permanent kinks in the inner lead wire. When not in use, store the leaders loosely coiled rather than folded.
