Because this jacket uses natural down, proper maintenance is essential for long-term performance. Always follow the manufacturer's care label, which typically involves machine washing on a delicate cycle with a specialized down detergent. It is crucial to tumble dry the jacket on low heat with clean tennis balls or dryer balls; this process breaks up clumps of down and restores the jacket's loft and thermal efficiency. Avoid heavy ironing or dry cleaning chemicals which can damage the water-resistant coating and the integrity of the down feathers. When storing, keep the jacket in a cool, dry place and avoid compressing it in a tight space for extended periods.
