Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, and loose flaking paint. Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth.
- Prime (Optional but Recommended): For new plaster, porous surfaces, or when painting over a significantly darker color, apply a suitable primer or a diluted first coat of emulsion (up to 10% water) to ensure optimal adhesion and a consistent finish.
- Protect Your Space: Cover floors, furniture, and fixtures with dust sheets. Use painter's tape to mask off skirting boards, door frames, and ceiling lines.
- Stir the Paint: Before use, thoroughly stir the paint to ensure an even consistency and color.
Compatibility
This Crown Matt Emulsion Paint is designed for `interior walls and ceilings`. It is compatible with:
- Plaster
- Brick
- Wallpaper
- Drywall/Plasterboard
Do not use on floors, high-traffic areas prone to heavy scrubbing, or surfaces requiring a durable, washable finish like kitchens and bathrooms without a specific bathroom/kitchen emulsion.
Care
- Cleaning Tools: Wash brushes and rollers thoroughly with warm, soapy water immediately after use.
- Cleaning Painted Surfaces: Due to its matte finish, this paint is less durable against scrubbing than silk or eggshell finishes. For light marks, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth using plain water. Avoid harsh detergents or vigorous scrubbing, as this can burnish the surface or remove the paint.
