FAQs
What is the main benefit of the PWRPLATE technology?
The PWRPLATE is a carbon composite plate engineered to provide propulsion, helping to increase running efficiency and speed.
Are these shoes suitable for marathon racing?
While they offer good cushioning and propulsion for training, they are primarily designed for everyday training runs. For dedicated marathon racing, a more specialized marathon shoe might be considered, but they can certainly be used for training towards a marathon.
How do the NITROFOAM layers work?
NITROFOAM consists of two layers of nitrogen-infused foam. This technology provides lightweight responsiveness and superior cushioning, contributing to a smooth and energetic ride.
Can I use these for cross-training activities other than running?
These trainers are optimized for running. While they can be worn for light cross-training, their design and support are best suited for running activities.
What kind of runner is the Deviate Nitro 4 best for?
They are ideal for adult male runners looking for a cushioned yet responsive shoe for everyday training, tempo runs, and interval sessions.
How durable is the PUMAGRIP outsole?
PUMAGRIP is a durable rubber compound designed for long-lasting traction. The expanded coverage enhances its longevity, especially for heel and midfoot strikers.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feel too tight or uncomfortable
Ensure you have selected the correct UK size. Try wearing them with different types of running socks. If discomfort persists after a break-in period, consider a different model or size.
Reduced cushioning or responsiveness over time
The NITROFOAM and PWRPLATE are designed for durability, but performance may gradually decrease with very high mileage. Consider replacing the shoes after approximately 300-500 miles of use.
Traction issues on wet surfaces
While PUMAGRIP offers good traction, extremely wet or slick surfaces can still pose a challenge. Ensure the outsole is clean of debris for optimal grip.
