FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for running?
Yes, they are designed for minimalist running, but users should transition slowly to zero-drop footwear to avoid injury.
Can I use these for long-distance hiking?
They are designed for agility and ground feel; they lack the underfoot protection and support required for rugged, long-distance trail hiking.
How do I clean the Vapor Glove 7?
Hand wash with mild soap and cool water. Air dry naturally away from heat sources.
Do these shoes have arch support?
No, these are true minimalist shoes designed to let your feet move and function naturally without artificial support.
What does the 'burrito-style' tongue mean?
It refers to an integrated tongue design that wraps around the foot like a burrito, providing a seamless and highly secure fit.
Troubleshooting
Foot fatigue after short use
This is common when transitioning to minimalist shoes; limit your usage time to short intervals until your muscles adapt.
Upper material losing shape
Ensure the burrito tongue is correctly centered and pulled taut before tightening the laces to maintain a consistent fit.
Slippage on very smooth surfaces
While Vibram soles are high-performance, ensure the treads are clean of dust and debris to maintain maximum friction.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Unmatched flexibility for natural foot movement
- High-breathability upper prevents overheating
- Secure wrap-around tongue fit
- Reliable traction from Vibram outsoles
- Lightweight construction for extended wear
Cons
- Minimal cushioning is not suitable for high-impact surfaces
- Requires adaptation for those used to traditional support shoes
- Not intended for heavy-duty hiking or technical climbing
Setup, Compatibility & Care
When you first receive your Vapor Glove 7s, ensure they fit snugly without feeling restrictive. Because of the burrito-tongue design, verify that the material lays flat against the bridge of your foot. For care, it is recommended to keep them out of extreme heat, which can warp the specialized outsole adhesives. If the shoes become dirty, hand wash them with mild soap and cold water, then allow them to air dry away from direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the breathable upper materials.
