Full details
The adidas Adizero EVO SL Trainers are designed for adult runners who prioritize speed and efficiency in their footwear. Drawing inspiration from the world-record-breaking EVO 3, these trainers offer exceptional energy return and a lightweight build that excels during high-paced training sessions or casual parkruns. While they provide top-tier performance features like Lightstrike Pro cushioning, users should note that their minimalist design is optimized for speed rather than heavy-duty stability or off-road trail endurance.

FAQs
Are these shoes true to size?
Yes, the Adizero EVO SL typically fits true to standard adult sizing. If you prefer extra room for toe splay during long runs, some runners prefer a half-size up.
Can I use these for marathon training?
Absolutely. They are inspired by marathon racing shoes and are excellent for speed sessions and long-distance training.
How often should I replace these shoes?
Performance running shoes typically last between 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running surface and gait.
Are these suitable for flat feet?
The Adizero series is performance-neutral. If you require specific arch support, you may consider swapping the factory insole for a custom orthotic.
Can I put these in the dryer?
No. The heat will damage the Lightstrike Pro foam and compromise the glue used in the construction.
Troubleshooting
Feeling pressure points on the top of the foot
Adjust the lacing pattern to a 'window' or 'gap' lacing technique to relieve pressure on the bridge of the foot.
Slipping inside the shoe
Use the extra top eyelet to create a 'runner's loop' or 'heel lock' to increase security around the ankle.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Extremely lightweight construction for faster turnover
- High-rebound cushioning reduces impact fatigue
- Versatile enough for both race day and daily training
- Secure, comfortable fit through traditional lacing
Cons
- Not intended for technical trail or off-road use
- Minimalist support features may not suit runners needing heavy stability
- Lightweight materials require careful cleaning to maintain longevity
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your Adizero EVO SL is straightforward: ensure the laces are adjusted to your preferred tension before your first run to allow the material to hug your midfoot properly.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Hand wash with a soft brush, mild soap, and cold water. Avoid the washing machine as high heat can degrade the foam's performance characteristics.
- Drying: Air dry away from direct sunlight or radiators, which can warp the shoe’s shape.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Ensure the shoes are completely dry before putting them back in your gym bag to prevent odor buildup.
- Rotation: To extend the life of the cushioning, allow the foam to decompress for 24 hours between long runs.
