What is LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam?
LIGHTSTRIKE PRO is adidas' pinnacle midsole foam. It's an exceptionally lightweight, soft, and responsive material that provides high energy return, delivering a cushioned and propulsive feel.
Does this shoe have a carbon plate?
No, the adizero EVO SL utilizes a midfoot nylon dog bone instead of carbon rods. This provides a different feel, balancing flexibility with support for smooth transitions.
What is the heel offset (drop) of these shoes?
The adidas adizero EVO SL has a heel offset of 6mm (39mm heel / 33mm forefoot stack height).
How much does one shoe weigh?

How should I clean my adizero EVO SL shoes?

Can I use these shoes for everyday training?
While comfortable, the adizero EVO SL is optimized for speed and performance. For maximizing their benefits and lifespan, it's recommended to reserve them for faster training efforts and race day rather than as an everyday high-mileage trainer.
What kind of outsole does the shoe have?
The outsole features a dual design: lighter clear rubber for weight reduction throughout the outsole, combined with durable Continental rubber in the forefoot for superior traction and durability.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feel less stiff or propulsive than expected, especially compared to carbon-plated shoes.
The adizero EVO SL uses a midfoot nylon dog bone instead of carbon rods. This design offers a unique balance of flexibility and support, prioritizing smooth transitions. It's intended to have a different, less rigid feel than full carbon-plated racers. Allow a few runs to adapt to this distinct ride.
Slight slippage on wet surfaces.
While the Continental rubber offers excellent wet traction, no shoe is entirely slip-proof. Reduce speed and shorten your stride in very wet or slippery conditions. Ensure the outsole is clean of debris that might hinder grip.
Foot discomfort or rubbing during runs.
Ensure you have the correct size and width. Experiment with different lacing techniques to achieve a more secure yet comfortable fit without excessive pressure points. Check your socks; moisture-wicking running socks can significantly improve comfort.
Shoes feel heavier after a run.
This can happen if the shoes absorb a lot of sweat or water during your run. Allow them to air dry completely in a well-ventilated area after each use. Ensure they are fully dry before your next run to maintain their lightweight feel.

Compatibility

Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your adizero EVO SL shoes:
- Cleaning: After use, especially if they are dirty, gently clean the upper and outsole. Use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and cold water to remove dirt. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Always allow your shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not machine wash or machine dry them, and keep them away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Keeping them in a well-ventilated area helps prevent odor buildup.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove the insoles and air them out. You can also use shoe deodorizers or baking soda sprinkled inside the shoes overnight.
