Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure laces are tight and evenly distributed across the top of your foot for a secure, snug fit. Avoid overtightening, which can restrict circulation.
- Spike Check: Before use, verify that all spikes are securely tightened into their receptacles. Hand-tighten if necessary, or use a spike wrench if available.
Compatibility
These spikes are designed exclusively for track and field long jump events. They are compatible with standard synthetic track surfaces. Do not use them on asphalt, concrete, or other hard, abrasive surfaces, as this will damage the spikes and shoe.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For mud or tougher grime, a soft brush can be used. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Allow the shoes to air dry completely at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can damage materials.
- Spike Maintenance: Regularly inspect spikes for wear and tear. Worn spikes should be replaced promptly using a spike wrench to maintain optimal traction. Replacement spikes are typically available in standard lengths.
- Storage: Store your spikes in a cool, dry place, ideally in a shoe bag to protect them from dirt and damage during transport.
