FAQs

Are these boots waterproof?

While made of durable leather, they are not explicitly marketed as fully waterproof; it is recommended to apply a water-repellent treatment for better weather resistance.

Do I need to size up for these boots?

Generally, these boots fit true to size, but since they feature a structured steel shank and memory foam, if you prefer wearing thicker socks, you might consider a half-size larger.

How do I care for the yellow leather?

Use a specialized leather cleaner for light-colored footwear and avoid harsh chemicals that might discolor the finish.

What is the purpose of the steel shank?

The steel shank provides rigidity to the midsole, which supports the arch and provides stability throughout your walking gait.

Can I replace the footbed?

The OrthoLite Impressions memory foam is designed for long-term comfort, but if you need custom orthotics, ensure they fit within the boot's volume.

Troubleshooting

Difficulty zipping the boot

Ensure the internal fabric flap is laying flat and not caught in the zipper teeth; if it sticks, rub a small amount of paraffin wax or a pencil lead on the zipper teeth.

Material feels stiff initially

Wear the boots for short periods indoors to allow the leather to naturally soften and the memory foam to conform to your foot shape.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Superior arch support from the steel shank
Easy to wear with functional side zip
Memory foam footbed adapts to the wearer
High-quality, durable leather construction

Cons

Requires a break-in period for the leather
Limited to specific tall-shaft style preferences
Requires regular leather care to maintain appearance

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your boots last, it is essential to follow proper maintenance steps. Since these are made from premium leather, you should treat the material with a leather protector spray before the first wear to guard against moisture and dirt. If the boots get wet, let them air dry naturally away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can cause the leather to crack. When cleaning, use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away dust and mud. For deeper cleaning or to maintain the vibrant yellow finish, use a leather cleaner specifically formulated for your material type. Store your boots in a cool, dry place and use shoe trees to help maintain the structure of the tall shaft when not in use.
