Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Try On: When first receiving your boots, try them on with the type of socks you typically wear for football. Ensure a snug, comfortable fit without excessive pressure points or heel slippage.
- Lacing: Lace them firmly but not too tightly. The Dynamic Fit collar will provide ankle support, so avoid over-tightening the laces around the ankle.
- Break-In Period: Like most football boots, these may require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few light training sessions before a full match to allow the NIKESKIN upper to mold to your foot.
Compatibility
These boots are Multi-Ground (FG/MG), meaning they are designed for optimal performance on two primary surfaces:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are firm or slightly damp.
- Artificial Grass (AG): Modern synthetic turf fields. While suitable, avoid using them on older, abrasive 1G/2G artificial turf if possible, as this can accelerate wear.
Avoid: Using these boots on very wet, muddy natural grass (where soft-ground (SG) studs would be better) or on indoor courts, as this can damage the soleplate and compromise performance.
Care
- Cleaning After Use: After every use, gently brush off loose dirt and debris from the upper and soleplate. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the NIKESKIN upper. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Stubborn Dirt: For more stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution and a soft brush can be used on the soleplate and studs. Rinse thoroughly.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not dry them near direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight) as this can damage the synthetic materials and glues.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape and absorb residual moisture.
- Inspection: Regularly check the studs and soleplate for any signs of wear or damage. Proper care extends the life of your boots.
