FAQs

What is 'Dual Fuel'?

Dual Fuel means the cooker uses two types of fuel: the hob (cooktop) is powered by gas, offering instant heat and precise control, while the oven is powered by electricity, providing consistent and even heat for baking and roasting.

How many ovens does this model have?

This Rangemaster Elise 90cm model features one spacious oven.

Can I use LPG (bottled gas) with this cooker?

Info needed: Please consult your product manual or a qualified gas engineer. Some models may be convertible with a specific conversion kit, but this must be done by a professional.

What are the dimensions of the cooker?

The product dimensions are 935mm (H) x 900mm (W) x 650mm (D), excluding handles and knobs. It requires a 90cm wide space.

How do I clean the Multi Ring Wok Burner?

Allow the burner to cool completely. Remove the burner components (caps and crowns) and wash them in warm, soapy water. Ensure they are thoroughly dry before reassembling them. Do not use abrasive scourers.

Is professional installation required?

Yes, due to it being a dual fuel appliance (gas and electricity), professional installation by a Gas Safe registered engineer (for gas) and a qualified electrician (for electricity) is mandatory for safety and proper functioning.

What is the energy efficiency rating?

This model has an energy efficiency class 'A' rating, indicating good energy performance.

What material is the hob made of?

Info needed: While the description confirms it's a gas hob, the specific material (e.g., stainless steel, enamel) for the hob surface is not provided. Typically, Rangemaster hobs are either stainless steel or enameled cast iron.

Troubleshooting

Gas hob burner not igniting

Check if the gas supply is on and the burner cap is correctly seated. Clean any debris from the burner ports. Ensure the ignition electrode is clean and dry.

Oven not heating up

Verify the electrical supply is connected and the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. Check if the oven timer is set correctly for manual operation or automatic cooking. Ensure the oven door is fully closed.

Uneven cooking in the oven

Ensure the oven is preheated fully before placing food inside. Avoid overcrowding the oven, which can restrict airflow. Check that the oven is level using the adjustable feet.

Strong gas smell

Immediately turn off the gas supply to the appliance and open windows for ventilation. Do not operate any electrical switches. Contact a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer immediately.

Control knobs feel stiff or loose

Gently clean around the base of the knobs to remove any food residue. If still stiff or loose, contact customer support or a qualified technician for inspection.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Precise and instant heat control with the gas hob
  • Dedicated multi-ring wok burner for high-heat cooking
  • Energy-efficient operation with an 'A' rating
  • Ample cooking space with 5 hob zones and a large oven
  • Elegant and timeless design enhances kitchen aesthetics
  • Dual fuel flexibility for diverse cooking styles

Cons

  • Requires both a gas supply and an electrical connection for installation
  • Single oven may be limiting for large families or extensive batch cooking compared to models with multiple ovens
  • Specific dimensions (90cm width) require careful kitchen planning and space availability
  • Info needed: Cleaning for specific components like oven liners or hob grates.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully unpack the cooker, removing all internal and external packaging materials. Keep the user manual accessible.
  2. Positioning: Place the cooker in its desired kitchen position. Ensure adequate ventilation and clearance from adjacent cabinets as specified in the full instruction manual.
  3. Gas Connection: A qualified Gas Safe registered engineer must connect the cooker to your mains gas supply. Do not attempt this yourself.
  4. Electrical Connection: A qualified electrician must connect the cooker to your main electrical supply. Ensure your electrical circuit can handle the appliance's power requirements.
  5. Leveling: Use the adjustable feet to ensure the cooker is perfectly level on your kitchen floor, which is crucial for even cooking and safety.
  6. First Use: Before initial cooking, it is recommended to run the oven on a high heat for a short period (e.g., 20 minutes at 200°C) to burn off any manufacturing residues. Ensure good ventilation during this process.

Compatibility

  • Fuel Type: This is a dual fuel appliance, requiring both a mains gas supply and a standard domestic electricity supply.
  • Space: It requires a 90cm wide cavity. The dimensions are 935mm (H) x 900mm (W) x 650mm (D) (excluding handles and knobs). Ensure your kitchen layout can accommodate these measurements.
  • Ventilation: Adequate ventilation in the kitchen is essential, especially when using the gas hob.

Care

  • Daily Cleaning: Wipe down the hob and control panel after each use with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent to prevent food build-up. For stainless steel surfaces, use a specialized stainless steel cleaner.
  • Hob Grates: Remove and clean hob grates periodically. Most grates can be washed in warm soapy water. Ensure they are completely dry before placing them back.
  • Oven Interior: For spills, wipe them immediately once the oven has cooled. For deeper cleaning, refer to your instruction manual for recommended oven cleaners suitable for the oven lining. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage surfaces.
  • Wok Burner: Keep the wok burner components clean and free from food debris to ensure efficient flame operation.
  • External Surfaces: Clean external surfaces with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
  • Safety: Always ensure the cooker is switched off and cool before cleaning. Do not spray cleaning products directly onto electrical components.
