Full details
The ASICS GT-2160 trainers are designed for active adults who prioritize a balance of aesthetic appeal and athletic performance. These trainers offer reliable support and durability for everyday wear and light fitness activities, making them a versatile choice for those on the move. However, prospective buyers should note that while they are highly functional for general training, they may not offer the extreme cushioning found in specialized long-distance marathon footwear.

FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?
The GT-2160 is optimized for daily wear, walking, and light training rather than high-mileage marathon running.
How do I choose the correct size?
These trainers are sized in standard UK adult measurements. It is recommended to choose your regular athletic shoe size.
Can I put these in the washing machine?
No, machine washing can damage the structural integrity and the finish of the materials. Hand cleaning is strongly advised.
Does the silver finish peel over time?
When cared for properly, the material is durable, but avoid dragging your feet or exposing the shoes to abrasive surfaces to maintain the finish.
Are these shoes water-resistant?
They are designed for breathability, meaning they are not waterproof and should be dried naturally if exposed to heavy rain.
Is the insole removable?
Yes, the standard insole is removable, which allows for the insertion of custom orthotics if required.
Troubleshooting
Inner heel wear
Ensure the shoes are fully unlaced before removing to avoid abrasive friction on the heel counter.
Accumulated dirt on silver finish
Gently wipe the outer surface with a damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners as they may strip the metallic finish.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Sophisticated and versatile silver colorway
- Solid construction quality for daily durability
- Balanced support system suitable for various foot types
- Breathable material keeps feet cool during moderate activity
Cons
- Not intended for technical trail running
- Limited to neutral-to-supportive stability profiles
- Silver finish requires specific cleaning care to avoid scuffing
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your ASICS GT-2160s, it is recommended to wear them with moisture-wicking socks to maintain foot hygiene and prevent interior wear. Ensure you select the correct UK size, such as the UK 6 referenced, for optimal alignment. For care, avoid machine washing; instead, spot clean with a soft brush and mild soapy water, allowing the shoes to air dry away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the materials.
