The Puma Deviate Nitro 4 is a high-performance trainer engineered for neutral runners who require consistent support during road mileage and tempo training. By combining responsive NITROFOAM technology with a carbon-composite PWRPLATE, these shoes provide exceptional energy return and propulsion, though runners seeking extreme cushioning for long-distance recovery runs may find the streamlined profile slightly firmer than maximalist alternatives.

Yes, its combination of energy-returning foam and a propulsion plate makes it highly effective for distance racing and training.
The shoe is designed for a neutral gait, providing balanced support rather than aggressive arch correction.
While PUMAGRIP is durable, these are specifically engineered for road surfaces and may not provide adequate protection on technical trails.
Use a soft brush and mild soap with lukewarm water. Air dry naturally and avoid machine washing.
The Deviate Nitro 4 features an 8mm heel-to-toe drop.
Ensure the laces are tensioned correctly through the eyelets to secure the midfoot; verify if the shoe is appropriate for your gait type.
Check the outsole for mud or small pebbles trapped in the treads and clean with a damp cloth.
Rotate between at least two pairs of shoes to allow the foam cell structure to fully recover between training sessions.
To ensure the longevity of your trainers, it is essential to allow the foam to decompress between runs. If the shoes become wet, remove the insoles and air dry them away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can degrade the foam technology. These shoes are best suited for neutral gait patterns; if you require significant arch support or motion control for overpronation, ensure these are compatible with your specific biomechanical needs. Regularly clean the outsole with a soft brush to remove debris from the grip patterns to maintain optimal traction.
