Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your Salomon XT-6 is straightforward, and proper care will ensure its longevity and performance.
Setup
- Lacing: Unclip the `Quicklace®` system's lock mechanism. Pull the laces apart to loosen the shoe fully.
- Fitting: Slide your foot in, ensuring your heel is seated comfortably in the `OrthoLite Sockliner`.
- Tightening: Pull the `Quicklace®` string upwards until the shoe feels secure and snug around your foot. Push the lock mechanism downwards to secure the laces.
- Stowing: Tuck the excess lace and lock mechanism into the lace pocket located on the tongue to prevent snagging.
Compatibility
- Activities: Ideal for trail running, hiking, light trekking, urban walking, and casual wear.
- Terrain: Best suited for varied surfaces including technical trails, gravel paths, pavements, and mild off-road conditions.
- Foot Type: The `OrthoLite Sockliner` and `EVA midsole` accommodate a wide range of foot types, offering adaptive cushioning.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: After use, especially on muddy trails, remove excess dirt with a soft brush. Hand wash with cool water and mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents or machine washing, which can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Air dry your XT-6 at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), which can deform the materials. Stuffing with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Ensure shoes are clean and dry before storing to prevent odor and material degradation.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove the `OrthoLite Sockliner` and air it out separately. Odor-absorbing inserts or sprays can also be used.
