Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Break-in Period: Like most football boots, the Copa League may require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few light training sessions before a full match to allow the materials to mold to your feet.
- Lacing: Experiment with different lacing patterns to find the most comfortable and secure fit. Ensure the laces are snug but not overly tight, which could restrict circulation.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This means:
- Ideal for: Natural grass fields that are relatively dry and firm.
- Not recommended for: Artificial grass (AG), soft ground (SG), or extremely hard/abrasive surfaces. Using FG boots on AG may cause excessive wear to both the boots and the pitch, and can lead to injury. Using them on soft ground will result in insufficient traction.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the life of your boots and maintains their performance:
- Cleaning After Each Use: Remove excess mud and dirt immediately after playing. Use a soft brush or damp cloth to clean the upper and outsole. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do NOT use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives.
- Deodorizing: To prevent odors, remove insoles and allow them to air out. You can also use boot deodorizers or stuff with newspaper to absorb moisture.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Inspection: Regularly check studs for wear and tear, and ensure laces are in good condition. Replace if necessary.
