Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting the most from your wedding gown involves proper preparation, pairing, and maintenance.
Initial Setup
- Unpack and Hang: Upon receiving your dress, carefully remove it from its packaging and hang it immediately on a padded hanger. This helps prevent creasing and allows the fabric to relax.
- Steaming: Before your wedding day, professional steaming is highly recommended to remove any wrinkles or creases from shipping and storage. Avoid ironing directly, as high heat can damage the delicate crepe fabric.
- Pre-Wear Inspection: Check all delicate button detailing on the back to ensure they are secure.
Compatibility
- Undergarments: Opt for seamless, supportive undergarments that provide a smooth silhouette, especially considering the sleek fit and open back.
- Footwear: Choose comfortable wedding shoes that allow for natural movement while complementing the floor-sweeping length. Test walking in your shoes with the dress beforehand.
- Accessories: The gown's minimalist design pairs beautifully with delicate pearl or crystal jewelry. Consider a long veil for the ceremony that can be removed for the reception. A sleek updo will beautifully highlight the open back.
Care
- Cleaning: Due to the delicate nature of the crepe fabric and the significance of the garment, professional dry cleaning by a specialist experienced in bridal wear is strongly advised after your wedding day. Do not attempt to machine wash or tumble dry.
- Storage: Store the dress in a breathable garment bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Avoid storing in plastic bags long-term, as this can trap moisture.
