Product Information

Full details

The Avid InflataHouse Compact is designed for anglers seeking a spacious and rapidly deployable social shelter for extended fishing sessions. Its key benefit lies in the fully inflatable frame, which allows for quick, single-person setup and pack-away, while offering robust stability in various weather conditions. A potential caveat for some users might be its total weight of 27.8kg, which requires consideration for transport. This shelter is constructed from durable 10,000mm hydrostatic head khaki fabric, includes a zip-on tunnel porch with large PVC windows for socialising, and features interchangeable front panels (solid infill and mosquito mesh) for versatility. Ventilation and access are managed through side and rear panels with integrated mesh and solid infills, and an internal roof vapour shield helps reduce condensation.

FAQs

What is the main advantage of the inflatable frame?

The inflatable frame allows for significantly faster setup and pack-away by a single person compared to traditional pole systems, maximizing fishing time.

How many people can comfortably use the InflataHouse Compact?

It is designed as a social shelter, ideal for one or two anglers with their gear, offering spacious living and sleeping areas.

Is the porch included as standard?

Yes, the shelter comes with a zip-on extended tunnel porch as part of the package.

What are the interchangeable front panels for?

They allow you to switch between a solid infill for privacy and insulation, and a full mosquito mesh for ventilation and insect protection, adapting to different weather conditions.

How do I clean the fabric?

Use a damp cloth with mild soap. Avoid abrasive chemicals. Ensure the shelter is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.

What is the hydrostatic head rating?

The fabric has a hydrostatic head rating of 10,000mm, indicating excellent waterproof performance.

Does it come with everything needed for setup?

Yes, it includes a pressure gauge pump, heavy-duty pegs, storm straps, and a puncture repair kit.

Troubleshooting

Shelter not inflating fully or feels unstable

Ensure the pump is securely connected to the valve. Check that all inflation valves are properly closed. Re-inflate to the recommended pressure using the gauge. Inspect for any obvious punctures.

Condensation inside the shelter

Ensure adequate ventilation by opening mesh panels. Use the internal roof vapour shield. Avoid cooking inside the shelter.

Water ingress during heavy rain

Check that all zips are fully closed and that the fabric is taut. Ensure storm straps are securely fastened. Verify that the groundsheets are correctly positioned and pegged.

Puncture in the inflatable frame

Locate the leak (listen for hissing or use soapy water). Apply the puncture repair kit according to its instructions. For larger tears, contact customer support.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely fast setup and pack-away due to the inflatable frame.
Excellent stability even in challenging weather.
High level of waterproofing with 10,000mm hydrostatic head fabric.
Versatile configuration options with interchangeable panels and multiple access points.
Comfortable for longer sessions with condensation reduction and insulation features.

Cons

Total weight of 27.8kg can be substantial for transport.
Requires a pump (included) for inflation, adding an extra step to setup.
Porch height of 185cm may be slightly restrictive for very tall individuals.
The reliance on air for the frame means a puncture could compromise structure.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Unpack the shelter and lay it out on a clear, flat surface.
Connect the included pressure gauge pump to the inflation valve(s).
Inflate the frame to the recommended pressure indicated on the gauge. Ensure all air poles are firm and stable.
Secure the shelter using the supplied heavy-duty pegs, especially in windy conditions.
Attach the desired front panel (solid or mesh) and the zip-on tunnel porch if required.
Use the double-point reflective storm straps for added stability in adverse weather.

Compatibility:

The InflataHouse Compact is designed as a standalone shelter. It can be used with most standard fishing bedchairs and equipment.
The internal dimensions (250 x 250 x 190 cm without porch) accommodate most common bedchair setups.

Care:

After use, allow the shelter to dry completely before packing away to prevent mildew.
Clean the fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Store the shelter in its bespoke carry bag in a dry environment.
Regularly check the inflation valves for proper sealing.
Use the supplied puncture repair kit immediately if any small leaks are detected.
