FAQs

What is the actual length of the pole?

The pole reaches a true 13.0m when configured with the 2.4m Carp Kit and the included No7/13m Mini Butt.

Does the pole come with elastic fitted?

The kits include PTFE internal bushes but are typically supplied without elastic, allowing you to choose the tension appropriate for your venue.

Can I use this pole for silvers as well as carp?

While optimized for carp, the included shallow kits and general rigidity make it a highly capable tool for many types of match fishing.

How do I store the pole sections?

All sections should be kept in the provided holdall, ensuring they are dry and protected from heavy impacts.

Are the Shallow Kits compatible with the main pole?

Yes, the Shallow Kits are specifically designed to be interchangeable with the main pole sections for fast adjustments on the bank.

Troubleshooting

Sections are difficult to separate

Ensure joints are dry and clean. Do not force them; gently twist while pulling to release the vacuum.

Elastic is sticking inside the Carp Kit

Clean the inside of the tip section and ensure the PTFE bush is clean and properly lubricated.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Superior stiffness reduces tip oscillation
Precise bait presentation in high winds
Comprehensive kit package suitable for various scenarios
Side pull rollers provide better control over large fish
Professional-grade components including PTFE bushes

Cons

High-modulus carbon requires careful handling to avoid accidental breakage
Requires more maintenance than entry-level poles
May feel heavier to some users due to the emphasis on rigidity

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up the Rigidex involves connecting the main pole sections to the desired kit length. To reach the full 13.0m, ensure the No7/13m Mini Butt is securely fitted.

Maintenance Tips:

Always clean the joints after every session with a dry cloth to prevent grit buildup.
Store all sections in the provided holdall to prevent crushing or thermal deformation.
Inspect the PTFE bushes regularly; if they show signs of grooving from the elastic, replace them immediately to avoid line failure.
Avoid leaving the pole fully extended in direct high-heat sunlight for extended periods to protect the carbon matrix.
