Product Information

Full details

The Drennan Rigidex 13.0m pole is designed for competitive match anglers who demand maximum stiffness and precision bait presentation in challenging conditions. By significantly reducing tip bounce, this pole ensures superior control over pole floats, even when fishing in windy environments. While its rigidity provides a professional-grade experience for high-stakes fishing, it requires careful handling during assembly and transport to maintain its specialized carbon structure.

FAQs

Does the pole require a butt extension to reach 13m?

No, the Rigidex reaches a true 13m length using the 3.0m Match Kit without the need for additional butt extensions.

Are the Match Kits pre-bushed?

Yes, all five 3m Match Kits come factory-fitted with internal PTFE bushes.

Can I use the pole at shorter lengths?

Yes, the included reversible No.5/No.6 Mini Butt allows for flexible length configurations depending on the swim.

What is the best way to clean the joints?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away any dust or silt. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents or oil-based lubricants on the joints.

Is the holdall suitable for air travel?

The compact holdall is designed for standard transport to the bank; it is not recommended for air travel without additional protective hard-casing.

Troubleshooting

Sections are difficult to separate

Clean both the male and female joints with a dry, lint-free cloth and ensure no grit or moisture is trapped.

Excessive friction at the elastic bush

Check the PTFE bush for debris; clean with a soft brush and apply a dedicated pole elastic lubricant if necessary.

Pole feels unbalanced or heavy

Verify that you are using the correct mini-butt configuration to ensure the center of gravity remains optimal for the chosen length.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To achieve the full 13m length, ensure you are utilizing the correct Match Kit configuration. Always use the provided reversible No.5/No.6 Mini Butt to protect the base sections from premature wear.

Care Instructions:

Always wipe down sections with a clean, dry cloth after a session to remove grit and moisture.
Regularly inspect the PTFE bushes for signs of grooving and replace if necessary to prevent line damage.
Store sections in the provided compact holdall, ensuring they are dry to prevent carbon degradation.
Avoid over-tightening joints; a firm, straight push-fit is sufficient for secure operation.
