FAQs
Are these shoes good for trail running?
No, these are specifically designed for road surfaces; for technical trails, consider a model with more aggressive lug patterns.
How should I clean the mesh upper?
Use a soft brush to remove dry debris and a damp cloth with mild soap for any stains; avoid submerging in water.
Can I wear these for daily walking?
Absolutely. The cushioning and supportive design make them excellent for walking and all-day casual wear.
Does the water-repellent finish make the shoe hot?
The upper remains highly breathable, but the finish does slightly alter moisture management compared to non-treated meshes.
How often should I replace my Cloudswift 4 AD trainers?
Generally, running shoes should be replaced every 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running style and surface conditions.
Troubleshooting
Foot slipping inside the shoe during runs
Try the 'runner's loop' lacing technique to create a more secure heel lock.
Water-repellent performance decreasing over time
Apply a standard footwear-safe water-repellent spray to restore the coating.
Pros and Cons
Pros

- Water-repellent coating protects against damp conditions

Cons

- Not intended for extreme cold weather environments
- Requires proper sizing for an optimal snug fit
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your ON Cloudswift 4 AD trainers provide the best experience, start by ensuring the laces are adjusted to provide a secure lockdown without cutting off circulation. Because these are road-specific trainers, they are compatible with most standard neutral running gaits.
For care and maintenance, it is recommended to:
- Remove loose dirt with a soft brush after each run.
- Wipe the mesh upper with a damp cloth if exposed to mud.
- Air dry the shoes in a cool, shaded area away from direct heat sources, which can warp the foam.
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage the structural integrity of the water-repellent coating.
