Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced securely but not overly tight. The fold-over tongue should sit flat, providing a clean surface. Experiment with lacing patterns to find the most comfortable and secure fit for your foot shape.
- Break-In Period: Like most football boots, these may require a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions before competitive matches to allow the materials to conform to your feet.
Compatibility
- Pitch Type: These boots are designed exclusively for soft ground (SG) pitches. This typically means natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or otherwise soft, where screw-in studs can penetrate effectively.
- Avoid Other Surfaces: Using these boots on firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or indoor courts (IC) can damage the studs, compromise traction, and potentially lead to injury.
Care Instructions
Regular care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Immediate Cleaning: After each use, remove all mud and debris. Use a soft brush or cloth to gently wipe down the upper. For stubborn mud, a damp cloth is effective.
- Stud Cleaning: Pay special attention to the studs and outsole. Remove any grass or mud caught between the studs to maintain optimal traction.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators), as this can damage the synthetic materials and cause them to crack or stiffen.
- Odour Control: If desired, stuff newspaper inside the boots while drying to absorb moisture and help maintain shape. Odour eliminators can also be used.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from dust and damage.
