Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Try Them On: Ensure the boots fit snugly but comfortably. Walk around to get a feel for them.
- Break-in Period: Like most football boots, a short break-in period of 1-3 training sessions is recommended. This allows the materials to mold to your foot shape for optimal comfort and performance.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Soft Ground (SG) pitches. This includes natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or have a deeper, softer surface. The stud configuration is optimized for maximum traction in these conditions.
- Do NOT use on: Firm Ground (FG), Artificial Grass (AG), or Indoor (IC) surfaces. Using SG boots on unsuitable surfaces can damage the studs, outsole, and reduce stability, increasing the risk of injury.
Care
- Clean After Every Use: Remove excess mud and dirt immediately after playing. Use a soft brush or damp cloth to wipe down the upper and soleplate.
- Remove Studs (if interchangeable): If your boots have removable studs, unscrew them periodically to clean out any trapped mud and ensure the threads remain clear.
- Dry Naturally: Never force-dry your boots with direct heat (e.g., radiators, hairdryers) as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives. Stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape, then allow them to air dry in a well-ventilated area.
- Store Properly: Keep your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from dust and debris.
