Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Loosen Laces: Fully loosen the laces to open up the boot's collar.
- Slide Foot In: Utilize the U-throat collar for easy entry, guiding your foot in.
- Adjust Fit: Once your foot is comfortably in, tighten the laces from the bottom upwards, ensuring a snug but not overly tight fit.
- Secure Knot: Tie a secure knot, double-knotting if preferred, to prevent laces from coming undone during play.
- Break-In Period: Leather boots often require a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions initially to allow the leather to mold to your foot for optimal comfort.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This means they are best suited for dry, natural grass pitches.
- Not Recommended For: Artificial Grass (AG), Soft Ground (SG), or Indoor (IC) surfaces. Using them on unsuitable surfaces can lead to damage, reduced performance, and potential injury.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your leather football boots.
- Cleaning After Use: After every match or training session, remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), which can cause the leather to crack or stiffen.
- Conditioning: Periodically apply a leather conditioner to keep the cow leather soft and supple. This prevents drying and cracking.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from dust and damage. Ensure they are completely dry before storage to prevent mildew.
