Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Loosen the laces before putting the boots on. Insert your foot fully, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated. Begin lacing from the bottom, pulling each section tight enough for a snug but not constricting fit. Finish with a secure knot or bow. A proper lacing technique ensures the 'locked-in' feel.
- Initial Wear: It is recommended to wear your new boots for short periods during training sessions to allow the leather to mold to your foot. This 'break-in' period is crucial for maximizing comfort and performance.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This includes dry, natural grass pitches. They are not recommended for use on Artificial Grass (AG), Soft Ground (SG), or indoor surfaces, as this can damage the studs, outsole, and potentially lead to injury.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your leather boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and mud using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight), as this can cause the leather to crack or harden.
- Conditioning: Periodically apply a leather conditioner specifically designed for football boots to keep the leather soft and supple. This prevents drying and cracking.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, ideally with newspaper stuffed inside to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Refer to Care Instructions: Always check the specific care tag or instructions provided with your boots for detailed manufacturer recommendations.
