The Levi's 501® Original Straight Jeans are designed for anyone seeking a timeless, versatile wardrobe staple that defines the classic denim aesthetic. As the original blueprint for modern jeans, they offer an iconic straight-leg fit and a comfortable mid-rise that flatters a wide range of body types. While their durability and style are unmatched, potential buyers should note that the minimal elastane blend means they may feel more structured compared to modern super-stretch denim alternatives.

These jeans are made from 99% cotton and 1% elastane for a balance of durability and comfort.
The Levi's 501® Originals featured here are designed with a classic mid-rise fit.
We recommend following the manufacturer's size chart and considering how you prefer your jeans to fit, as the low elastane content means they will not stretch as much as high-stretch denim.
While machine drying is possible, air drying is highly recommended to preserve the integrity of the cotton and prevent shrinkage.
Yes, the 501® straight-leg cut is widely considered a universal fit that complements a variety of body types.
The 99% cotton fabric is meant to soften with wear. Try wearing them around the house for short periods to break in the denim naturally.
Wash the jeans inside out before the first wear to remove excess dye and avoid contact with light-colored upholstery until they have been washed once or twice.
Cotton-heavy denim often relaxes slightly with body heat and movement. Give them time to adapt to your body shape after a few hours of wear.
To ensure your Levi's 501® jeans maintain their shape and integrity, always check the specific care tag on your garment. Generally, it is recommended to wash in cold water with like colors to prevent indigo transfer and minimize shrinkage. Because the material is primarily cotton, air drying is the best way to extend the lifespan of the denim and maintain the original fit. Avoid excessive use of harsh detergents or bleach. For sizing, these jeans are designed for a standard fit; if you prefer a looser aesthetic, some users opt to size up, whereas those wanting a more tailored look often stick to their standard waist measurement.
