Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & First Use
- Adjust Straps: Before your first wear, loosen the buckles on both straps.
- Slide Foot In: Place your foot into the sandal, ensuring your heel sits snugly in the heel cup and your toes rest comfortably behind the toe bar.
- Fasten Straps: Tighten each strap so that the sandal feels secure but not too tight. You should be able to slide a finger easily under the strap. The goal is for your foot to feel supported without gripping the sandal with your toes.
- Break-in Period: Wear your new Birkenstocks for short periods initially (e.g., 30 minutes to an hour) and gradually increase wear time. This allows the footbed to soften and mold to your unique foot shape for optimal comfort.
Compatibility
These Birkenstock Arizona sandals are versatile and pair well with a wide range of casual attire, including shorts, jeans, casual dresses, and skirts. Their timeless design makes them suitable for various casual occasions, from beach outings to urban explorations.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning the Footbed: Gently clean the cork-latex footbed with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap, then wipe clean. Avoid harsh chemicals. Allow to air dry completely away from direct heat.
- Protecting the Cork: Periodically apply a thin layer of Birkenstock Cork Sealer (Info needed: recommend specific product or type) to the exposed cork edges to prevent drying and cracking. This helps maintain the integrity and longevity of the footbed.
- Upper Care: For general cleaning of the upper material (assuming it's durable), wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid submerging the sandals in water.
- Drying: If your sandals get wet, allow them to air dry slowly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources. Do not put them in a dryer.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
