FAQs
Do I need an amplifier for the Kanto YU2 speakers?
No, the Kanto YU2 speakers have a built-in Class D amplifier, so no external amplifier is required.
Can I connect my turntable directly to the YU2 speakers?
If your turntable has a built-in pre-amp or you are using an external phono pre-amp with a line-level output, you can connect it via the 3.5mm AUX input. If your turntable only has a phono-level output, you will need a phono pre-amp before connecting to the YU2.
What is the difference between connecting via USB and AUX?
Connecting via USB bypasses your computer's internal sound card for a direct digital audio signal, often resulting in cleaner sound. The AUX connection uses an analog audio signal from your device's headphone jack.
Can I use these speakers for TV audio?
Yes, if your TV has a 3.5mm headphone output or an RCA audio output (which can be adapted to 3.5mm), you can connect it to the YU2's AUX input.
What is the RMS power output?
The Kanto YU2 speakers have a total RMS rated power of 50W, with 25W delivered to each speaker.
How do I add more bass?
You can connect a powered subwoofer to the dedicated SUB OUT port on the rear of the speaker to enhance low-frequency performance.
Are these speakers Bluetooth enabled?
No, the Kanto YU2 speakers are not Bluetooth enabled; they use wired connections (USB and AUX).
Troubleshooting
No sound from speakers
Ensure the speakers are powered on, the volume is turned up, and the correct audio source (USB or AUX) is selected and properly connected. Check that the speaker wire between the two units is securely attached.
Audio distortion or crackling
Lower the volume. Check cable connections for looseness or damage. If using USB, ensure your computer's audio output is set to the YU2 speakers and that no other audio processing is active.
Humming or buzzing sound
Try a different power outlet. Ensure all audio cables are properly seated. If using the AUX connection, try a different AUX cable. If the noise persists, it may be interference; try moving speaker cables away from power cords.
Subwoofer not producing sound
Verify the subwoofer is powered on and connected correctly to the YU2's SUB OUT port. Ensure the subwoofer's volume is adjusted and its own input is correctly configured.
