Full details
The Kanto YU2 desktop speakers are designed for home users seeking surprisingly big sound from a compact package. They offer flexible connectivity via USB or AUX and deliver clear highs and distortion-free mids, with an option to add a subwoofer for deeper bass. A potential drawback is their compact size, which might limit the lowest bass frequencies for audiophiles without an external subwoofer. Key features include 50W RMS power, 2-way design with 3-inch composite drivers and 3/4-inch silk dome tweeters, USB and 3.5mm AUX inputs, and a subwoofer output.

FAQs
Can I connect the Kanto YU2 to my TV?
Yes, if your TV has a 3.5mm headphone or audio output jack. You can connect it using a standard 3.5mm AUX cable.
Do I need a separate amplifier for these speakers?
No, the Kanto YU2 are powered speakers, meaning they have a built-in amplifier. You only need to connect them to a power source and your audio device.
What is the purpose of the SUB OUT port?
The SUB OUT port allows you to connect an external powered subwoofer to enhance the low-frequency (bass) response of the system.
Can I use these speakers for music production?
While they offer good clarity for their size, they are best suited for casual listening and general desktop use. For critical audio mixing and mastering, professional studio monitors with a flatter frequency response are generally recommended.
How do I switch between USB and AUX input?
There is a switch on the back of the active speaker that allows you to select either USB or AUX as the active input source.
What is the warranty period for the Kanto YU2 speakers?
Please refer to Kanto's official website or your point of purchase for the most up-to-date warranty information, as it can vary by region and retailer.
Can I connect two pairs of YU2 speakers together?
No, the YU2 speakers are designed as a single stereo pair. They do not have outputs to chain multiple pairs together.
Troubleshooting
No sound from speakers
Ensure the speakers are plugged into a power outlet. Check that the correct input source (USB or AUX) is selected. Verify that the volume is turned up on both the speakers and your audio source. If using USB, try a different USB port or cable. If using AUX, ensure the cable is fully inserted.
No sound from one speaker
Check the connection between the active and passive speakers. Ensure the speaker wire is securely connected to the binding posts on both speakers. Try swapping the speaker wires to see if the issue follows the wire or the passive speaker.
Distorted or crackling audio
Lower the volume on both the speakers and the audio source. Check that the audio source is not sending a clipping signal. Ensure the selected input is clean (e.g., try a different AUX cable or USB port). If using USB, ensure no other high-bandwidth USB devices are causing interference.
USB connection not recognized
Try a different USB port on your computer. Ensure you are using the correct USB cable. Restart your computer. Check your computer's device manager for any unrecognized devices or driver issues.
Low bass response
The YU2 has a bass port but is designed for compact sound. For deeper bass, connect a powered subwoofer to the SUB OUT port. Ensure the subwoofer is properly connected and powered on.
