Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Stud Check: Before your first use and prior to every game or training session, ensure all interchangeable metal studs are present and securely tightened. Loose studs can affect grip and performance.
- Lacing: Lace the boots firmly but not uncomfortably tight, starting from the toe and working your way up. Ensure the padded ankle collar sits snugly around your ankle for optimal support and comfort.
Compatibility
These boots are designed for adult, unisex players (specifically UK 12 for this variant). They are primarily suited for Soft Ground (SG) pitches, which include natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or generally soft. The metal studs are specifically chosen for these conditions to maximize grip and performance. They are suitable for all playing positions in rugby where superior traction is paramount.
Care
- Immediate Cleaning: After each use, immediately clean the boots with a soft damp cloth to remove all mud, grass, and dirt. This prevents debris from drying and hardening on the leather.
- Air Dry: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can damage the leather.
- Leather Conditioning: Periodically apply a suitable leather conditioner or boot wax to keep the leather supple, prevent cracking, and maintain its water resistance. Follow the product instructions for application.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check and tighten the interchangeable metal studs to prevent them from loosening or falling out during play. Replace any worn, damaged, or missing studs promptly.
